Tax Areas
Each of these tax areas has its own set of rules and regulations, and it is important to understand how they apply to your individual or business circumstances.

Income Tax
This involves the taxation of an individual's or business's income.

Sales Tax
A tax on the sale of goods and services, usually imposed by state and local governments.

Property Tax
A tax on real estate, typically based on the assessed value of the property.

Estate Tax
A tax on the transfer of wealth from one person to another, typically when the recipient inherits assets from the deceased.

Gift Tax
A tax on gifts given by an individual to another person, typically over a certain annual limit.

Corporate Tax
A tax on the profits of corporations and businesses.

Payroll Tax
A tax on the wages and salaries paid by an employer to its employees.

Excise Tax
A tax on specific goods, such as gasoline, tobacco, and alcohol.
GST
Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a value-added tax system that is imposed on the supply of goods and services in India. It is a comprehensive indirect tax that replaces many different taxes that were previously imposed by the central and state governments, including the Value Added Tax (VAT), Service Tax, Central Excise Duty, and others.
The GST system operates on a “destination-based” principle, which means that tax is levied on goods and services at the place where the final consumption occurs. GST is collected at each stage of the supply chain, but the taxpayer is only able to claim a credit for the GST paid on inputs (input tax credit) and is therefore only taxed on the value added at each stage.
There are three main GST rates in India: 5%, 12%, and 18%. The GST rate for a particular item depends on its classification and usage. Some goods and services are exempt from GST, and some are subject to a 0% rate.
GST has been implemented in India since July 1, 2017, and has since had a significant impact on the Indian economy and tax system.
